NORTHBOUND PASSAGE
Masters Instructions
Send your SP1 (Sailing Plan 1) report to the agent 48 hours before your arrival at the Dardanelles south entrance.
 
DARDANELLES PASSAGE:
Restrictions:
A SPECIAL PERMISSION IS REQUIRED MINIMUM 72 WORKING HRS BEFORE ARRIVAL FOR ALL TYPES OF VESSELS OVER 299.,9 METERS LOA.
 
DAYLIGHT PASSAGE ONLY, FOR ALL TYPE OF VESSELS OVER 299.9 LOA AND TANKERS OVER 199.9 METERS LOA
Procedure:
Please call Mehmetcik Control Station on VHF Channel 11, 30 nm before reaching Mehmetcik Light House, and ask for permission to enter the Dardanelles Strait. When you get the green light from the Control Station, call also Mehmetcik Pilot by on VHF Channel 71 advising your position and stand on VHF Channel 11/71 until you enter the Dardanelles and then switch to VHF Channel 13 until you leave the Dardanelles Strait.
 
Pilot Ladder
Please prepare the pilot ladder on your stb side. If your vessel's free-board exceeds more than 8 meters, please prepare a combination ladder.
 
Sanitary Inspection Boat:
Please have the following ready at the gangway for the sanitary inspection boat:
Copies of tonnage, deratting, registration certificates, two copies of the crew list and ship's stamp.
 
BOSPORUS PASSAGE:

Procedure:
Please call the Istanbul Control Station on VHF Channel 11, 30 nm before reaching Haydarpasa Break Water, and advise your position. Then proceed following Control Station's instructions and stand by on VHF Channel 11. When you get instructions for entrance from the Istanbul Control Station, call the bosporus Pilot on VHF Channel 71 advising your position and stand by on VHF Channel 11/71 until you enter the strait and then switch to VHF Channel 12 until you leave the strait. Report to Turkeli Control Station on VHF Channel 13 while passing by the Anadolu Light House.
