The IBIA 2019 convention, organized by IBIA, the International Bunker Industry Association, was completed in Istanbul. The activity took place in Ciragan Palace Kempinski, which had Arkas Petrol, a prominent player in the sector, as its gold sponsor.
 
IBIA is held in a different country every year and this year’s IBIA convention was organized in Istanbul. The event took place between 22-24 October and had over 260 industry representatives from different countries. Highlights from IMO 2020: Compliance and Sanctions, Possible Fuel Problems in 2020, Fuel Technologies Post-2020, Leadership Panel and Preparations in Turkey for IMO 2020 Applications. Representatives had the chances to participate in the IBIA Bunker Training Course and Workshop too.
 
Arkas Petrol, the golden sponsor of IBIA Convention 2019, highlighted its full-trust-and-full-quality policy in their works with shareholders, for the attention of its clients and other participants of the convention. Representing Arkas Petrol, Seckin Gul evaluated the event. Gul stated that the annual IBIA convention, closely followed by the marine sector, was held in Turkey for the first time and in the convention, the participants from 25 countries exchanged information regarding the changes to take effect in 2020. Gul also emphasized that the event was productive in terms of the industry.
