New Vessels Join Arkas Merchant Fleet
Owner of the largest container vessel fleet in Turkey, Arkas continues its investments by taking delivery of “M/V MAERSK JUBAIL” on May 16th and will add “M/V MAERSK JAIPUR” at the end of this month. Both vessels are 2,824 TEU-capacity Sub Panamax container vessels, which were previously owned by Cido Shipping of Hong Kong and operated by Maersk.
The twin container vessels, built in 2008 in Hyundai Mipo Shipyard in South Korea, are 222 metres long and 30 metres wide.
With the addition of two new vessels, the Arkas Merchant Fleet increased to 49 vessels and total capacity to over 89,490 TEU.
