Arkas Line upgrades its West Africa ServiceArkas Line upgrades its West Africa Service
 
 
Arkas Line is upgrading its West Africa coverage with bigger tonnage and new Vessel Sharing Agreements. 
 
1. Europe Africa Service (EAS): Arkas Line will become a vessel operator again on this trade based on a new VSA with Hapag-Lloyd. Arkas has been cooperating here with Hapag-Lloyd since December 2015 as a slot buyer and, at times, as a vessel operator.  New developments and additional capacity requirements drove Arkas to be become a vessel operator again. 
 
The rotation will be;
 
Antwerp – Hamburg – Tangier – Casablanca - Dakar - Tema – Abidjan – Tangier – Antwerp
 
Arkas Line will operate 1 of 5 vessels, M/V Vivien A (2.478 TEU), which will be phased in at Antwerp on Sept 4th.
 
 
2. West Africa Service (WAS): There will be a capacity increase and rotation revision on this trade based on a new VSA with Hapag- Lloyd and CMA CGM.  
 
The WAS rotation:
 
Tangier – Algeciras – Cotonou – Apapa – Tin Can – Tema – Tangier
 
Arkas Line will operate 1 of 4 vessels, TBN (4.250 TEU), as of August 25th.   After a one year suspension, service to Apapa will resume again with Cotonou, Benin, being called for the first time in the company’s history. 
 
Arkas Line aims to relay with its strong Tangier feeder network all Mediterranean and Black Sea cargoes to its new WAS and EAS via Tangier.
